UPS GROUND DELIVERY
For items shipping to addresses within the 48 contiguous states, the cost of standard shipping, handling and insurance is shown at end of shopping cart. Most in-stock items are shipped via UPS or USPS within 48 hours and will arrive in approximately 7 working days. Since UPS will not deliver to a P.O. box address, a street address must be provided.

SHIPPING OUTSIDE THE 48 CONTIGUOUS U.S.
Products shipped outside the 48 contiguous states (including AK, HI, PR and APO/FPO addresses) require additional shipping charges which will be calculated when order is received and communicated back to you before shipment is made. Please select your products using the standard order process and we will determine the actual shipping cost once it is received. International orders take longer to process and prepare for shipment. It can take a few days longer on these orders.

LARGE/OVERSIZED ITEMS
Large/oversized items, wine cellars, cooling units, wine racks, Wine Keeper systems and their components, items shipped from manufacturers or freight collect, and some select items require additional delivery times. Because of size and/or weight, some items require an additional shipping surcharge. Shipping for large items will vary according to destination, and will be quoted within 48 hours after an order is placed. WINE STORAGE & RACKING SYSTEMS
Most wine storage units and racking systems are built to order by the manufacturer and require additional delivery time. All wine storage units, racking systems and cooling units require pre-payment at the time of order. A 15% restocking charge will be imposed on any cancellations after 10 days from the order date. The customer is responsible for all freight charges. We recommend that the customer carefully inspect all merchandise before signing the release with the freight carrier.

UPS 2ND-DAY DELIVERY
UPS 2nd Day Delivery is available for an additional charge of $8.00 per delivery item in the 48 contiguous United States. Additional items will be billed once the order is received. Orders received by 10am MST Monday-Friday will process and ship same day. Orders received after 10am MST will process and ship the following business day. Excludes wine cellars, cooling units, wine racks, Wine Keeper systems and their components, items shipped freight collect and/or directly from manufacturers, and personalized items. Items must be in stock at time of purchase.

UPS NEXT DAY DELIVERY
UPS Next Day Delivery is available for an additional charge of $10 per item for the first three items (maximum additional charge of $30) per delivery address in the 48 contiguous United States. The shipping charge for the second and third items will be added to the order after it is received. Orders received by 10am MST Monday-Friday will process and ship same day. Orders received after 10am CST will process and ship the following business day. Excludes wine cellars, cooling units, wine racks, Wine Keeper systems and their components, items shipped from manufacturers, and personalized items which require additional delivery times. Wine Oxidation: Causes And How To Minimize It

Wine oxidizes when exposed to air, causing a distinctive sherry-like off-odor and brownish tint that is increasingly recognizable with wine consumption experience.

When wine tannins are oxidized, hydrogen peroxide is produced which subsequently oxidizes ethanol into acetaldehyde - the principal compound producing the oxidized odor and masking the wine's fragrance. On opening a bottle, acetaldehyde generation can be detected within as little as two to eight hours, depending on varietal, age, amount of wine contact with air, temperature, etc. White wines and older reds are particularly susceptible to oxidation damage.

The biggest factor in oxidation is the amount of wine surface contact with air following opening and pouring. Therefore, wine preservation products that are most effective at reducing air contact with the wine surface will best reduce oxidation.

Hand Pumped Products

Hand Pump-based products are simply not capable of creating a complete vacuum within the bottle and since they can not evacuate the oxygen the oxidation process will continue. Besides being of limited effectiveness in reducing oxidation, these products are also not designed as part of a complete system for opened wine that manages the temperature of a given varietal at its ideal serving temperature.
