GRANDE RIVER VINEYARDS

Grande River Vineyards

Founder Stephen Smith began planting grapes on the Mesa de Colorado Farm in 1987. Today our sixty acres of vineyards grows more grapes than any other in Colorado: the farm supplies the Grande River Vineyards winery, half of the grapes used in Colorado's other wineries, and wineries in eight other states.

The choice grapes, a "top-notch" vineyard manager, the latest technology and our love for Colorado wines has produced wines of character and distinction that express "terroir" - the interplay of natural elements and winemaking that richly evoke a place. These include blends such as the Red Meritage (Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, & Merlot) and the White Meritage (Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon), a late-harvest dessert Semillon and a semi-sweet Sauvignon.

The winery has won over 175 regional, national and international competitions for wines of all vintages. Taste the results at our tasting room surrounded by vineyards, lovely gardens, and lawns with picnic tables. Complimentary tasting available to those at least 21 years old; gifts, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are also for sale. Join us for our concert series and special events, or plan your own within our setting.
